The Texas Foreclosure Prevention Task Force began as an initiative of NeighborWorks America in the summer of 2007, in response to the increasing number of home mortgage foreclosures in Texas. A steering committee was assembled under the direction of NW with the assistance of a Statewide Coordinator, JoAnn DePenning.  Today the Task Force is comprised of over 100 organizations representing federal, state and local government organizations, working together in support of Texas’ HUD approved nonprofit housing counseling agencies and their work to avert home mortgage foreclosures and the impact of foreclosures on Texas families and communities.
